If you’re at the start of your career, what are you hoping for? Are you looking specifically for organisations in which people can thrive over the lengths of their careers? These need sustainable leadership. What does that look like? On 9 May, at our third Women in Business event, RSM brought together speakers and over 70 participants from a wide range of backgrounds, nationalities, career levels and ages to discuss these questions. Two participants even won a scholarship for RSM’s Executive MBA.

But what emerged was more than a conversation. It became a space of connection and support between professionals who had started the day as strangers. https://ow.ly/ZYJp50Z2FJU

💚 Rotterdam: the city that rebuilt itself
On 14 May, we remember the bombing that shattered Rotterdam on this day in 1940. In just 15 minutes, the heart of the city was reduced to rubble.
Rotterdam didn't mourn its ruins. Instead, it built on top of them.

The Boompjes, like so many parts of Rotterdam, tells that story in its ever-growing skyline: a city that never stopped rebuilding and reimagining.

Our students in the Medical Business and Innovation MSc programme just wrapped up the course Digital Transformation in Healthcare. 🏥💡
The course closed with a visit to Philips, giving students a real-world look at how digital innovation is reshaping healthcare. Throughout the course, they also learned from an impressive lineup of practitioners and experts, who brought the classroom to life with industry insight and hands-on perspective.

A huge thank you to course instructor and RSM professors Amir H.Omidvari, Menno J. Smit and Valentin Marchon, guest lecturers Maurice de Rochemont, Merel Backers (Digizorg), María José Villalobos-Quesada, Léon Rietman and Lise van Wijk from Young Innovators of Medicines. And, of course, to RSM students, whose curiosity and engagement made every session worth it. 🙌

Interested in the MSc Medical Business and Innovation? 📅 Apply before 15 May https://ow.ly/J2UU50YXnrK

A fantastic achievement for RSM finance students 👏

A team of RSM finance students has won two stages of the 2026 CFA Institute Research Challenge: the Benelux competition; and the sub-regionals for West Europe. The RSM students stood out with their strong equity research report and their exceptional final presentation.

With over 200 hours of preparation per team member, their hard work has truly paid off.

The 2026 edition of the STAR Case Competition (RSMCC) once again welcomed university student teams from across the globe to come together to tackle real-life case challenges, set by APPU Jewellery and .

Student teams competed across both a 12-hour and a 24-hour case sprint. And the quality of solutions presented by the teams reflected the very best of next-generation business thinking.

But the RSMCC has always been about more than the competition itself. In addition to the cases, participants explored Rotterdam via the Pancake Boat, visited Logitech's Utrecht headquarters, and celebrated at a gala event at the Rotterdam Wereldmuseum.
Moments that brought 16 teams from around the world a little closer together. 🌍
And the results:

🥇 First Place: Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen 香港中文大学(深圳)
🥈 Second Place: University of Singapore
🥉 Third Place: Foster School of Business

Huge congratulations to all three podium teams and a special mention to Lyn-Zhou Lim, voted Best Speaker.

To every team that competed: thank you. You brought the energy, rigour and spirit that makes this competition what it is.

See you next year!

When students travel from across the globe to compete at the RSM STAR Case Competition, the experience extends well beyond the case room.

This year, participants had the opportunity to visit the offices of Logitech in Utrecht, one of the companies they would be building a case for prior to the 24-hour challenge.

From an introduction to Logitech's culture, vision, and product ecosystem to seeing firsthand how Logitech collaborates with partners such as MediaMarkt Nederland, the on-site visit gave the case competition teams the kind of grounded, real-world context that no briefing document can replicate.

It’s exactly this kind of direct engagement with world-class businesses that makes the RSM STAR Case Competition a distinctive experience that prepares participating students to not just solve cases, but to understand the companies behind them.
