Hello people!
We hope you all had a nice summer break and a good semester start. If you are attentively checking your umail, you might have already seen that OLC elections are coming up. Application deadline is the 25.09 and you can fill out the application form here: https://www.formdesk.com/universiteitleiden/fgw_kandidaatstelling_OLC).
Maybe you are wondering if and why you should apply to be part of the OLC, so here is a small recap on what the OLC does and what you can do:
The OLC is a committee consisting of 5 students and 5 staff members which is concerned with the quality of education in BAIS. We look over different kinds of evaluations and other forms of feedback and discuss how we can improve certain courses or the education in BAIS in general. We also have an advisory right to the program board and the faculty and give our opinions on i.e. the exam regulations, online education, etc.
As a student member, you get to take part in these discussions and, of course, you also get to bring up your own points. If you like discussions, have ideas on how to improve the education within BAIS, or simply want to get a better understanding of the possibilities and limitations to our education, you should apply!! :) Being on the OLC is not a big time investment (unless you have many points you want to work on), the people are very nice, and to non-corona times there are cookies at the meetings.
If you have any questions about the work of the OLC or you want to hear more about our experience, send us a dm 😊
Best,
Bhumika, Eveline, Gabriel, Mario, & Kim
