There’s something special about belonging to an international community. It continues to bring people together, and the annual Leiden Alumni reunion in Brussels once again proved just that.

Last week, a diverse group of 180 alumni gathered at the Brussels office of law firm King & Spalding, for a special alumni gathering. The evening featured contributions from President of the Executive Board Luc Sels and keynote speaker Geoffrey van Leeuwen, NATO Chief of Staff and Leiden alumnus, who shared insights on Europe’s future, security and the role of international cooperation.

The annual Alumni in Brussels event is organised by the Faculty of Humanities, Leiden Law School, the Faculty of Governance & Global Affairs and the institute of Political Science, supported by Leiden University’s central Alumni Office.

🎓 We can only imagine how 370 graduates felt last Friday, August 29, as they stepped into Pieterskerk one last time as BAIS students before receiving their diplomas and officially graduating from the International Studies bachelor’s program of Leiden University - Faculty of Humanities. Surely, there was a blend of enthusiasm, gratitude, and fulfillment. Along with a touch of nostalgia, maybe. But this milestone is just the beginning of an exciting road ahead.

Congratulations to all the graduates and best wishes as you begin the next chapter of your journey. Welcome to the Alumni community!
