Liberal Arts and Sciences at University College Tilburg combines different scientific disciplines to understand complex global issues.

After a foundation year students can concentrate on one of five majors:

Law in International Context
Social Sciences: Human Behavior
Business & Economics
Arts and Humanities: Past – Present – Future
Cognitive Neuroscience: Brain and Cognition. Elective courses offer the opportunity to choose for either a more in depth specialization of their chosen discipline, or broaden their knowledge by combining multiple disciplines.

Last week, our second year law major students visited the International Court of Justice in the Hague, together with students from the Bachelor's Global Management of Social Issues. 🙌 They even had the opportunity to have a conversation with Judge Tladi.

Thank you to the ICJ staff for this fascinating experience and to our lecturers Mariana Gkliati, Irene Miano and Michiel Bot for organizing this for our students. ✨️

On August 17, we held our annual Opening Conference to kick off the new academic year 🎉 This year, we came together to discuss the concept of democracy, moderated by alumnus Jamie Wolvekamp. Lecturers Anka Hüvös, David Janssens, and Kate Massarella each brought excerpts from research and literature to approach this topic from different disciplines: educational psychology, philosophy and the humanities, and political ecology. A true introduction to the interdisciplinary spirit of Liberal Arts and Sciences. It was wonderful to see all of you engage so critically with the topic. We are excited to welcome you into our lecture halls and wish you a great semester ahead! 🌟✨
