On Friday, May 29, Tilburg University proudly unveiled the Rainbow Sofa: a new and lasting symbol of diversity, inclusivity, and connection on our campus. 🏳️‍🌈

The Rainbow Sofa was officially unveiled by Vice-President of the Executive Board Wilma De Koning and Viara Vassileva, Chair of Umbrella Association. It replaces the former rainbow staircase and continues its legacy in a more sustainable and permanent form. More than a colorful installation, it is a place where students and staff can meet, connect, and feel welcome to be themselves. Created together with students and staff through the “Celebrating Diversity” design competition, the mosaic design beautifully reflects our community: every piece is unique, yet together they form one whole.

Congratulations to the winners of the Impact Startup Contest 2026! 💡

During the Tilburg University Impact Startup Contest, students are challenged to develop their innovative ideas into real change within just a few months. Through the unique program of , students develop solutions to entrepreneurial and societal issues, guided by experienced business coaches. The contest ended with an award show last week, where the most promising startups pitched their ideas.

In this episode, we visited one of Tilburg’s most iconic student housing complexes on Professor Verbernelaan: Verbs. 🏘️

The five multi-story buildings accommodate around 400 students, making it a place where student life comes together both inside and around shared spaces. Students have their own bedrooms, with shared kitchens and living areas. But what does it feel like to live here?
