▪︎ Pre-Bachelor Conservatorium Tilburg 🎻 ▪︎

During the preparatory year at Conservatorium Tilburg (jazz, classical and composition), you will get to work on your musical skills.
You will do this with your voice or instrument.
Just as important is developing your theoretical knowledge and playing together with your fellow musicians.
This way, you discover whether a music education is really right for you and prepare for admission to the Bachelor's program at Conservatorium Tilburg.

🪉 For who is the Pre-Bachelor?
For everyone who wants to see if a music education is the right choice and/or wants to work towards an audition. This can be done in combination with the final year of secondary school or a gap year.

🎶 Pre-bachelor Conservatorium Tilburg what does it mean?
You will get to work with your instrument or voice, learn more about music theory, and play together with others in ensembles. This way, you discover what it is like to study at Conservatorium Tilburg and develop not only your musical skills but also your self-confidence and stage experience.

⏳️ When?
Starts September 2026, 12 months. There is an entrance exam to determine if you have the required entry level.

▪︎ The Conservatorium Talent Award - ▪︎

The Conservatorium Talent Award is an initiative of Jazz in Duketown, in collaboration with and made possible by the Cultuurfonds Noord-Brabant. The event offers young jazz musicians an important platform and a springboard to a professional career.

The 2026 Mingus Prize, for the most promising composer, was awarded to Youri Traa of AMPA (Tilburg) for the composition For Reasons Unknown. The jury: “Idiosyncratic, melodically strong, and surprising in rhythm: Youri Traa knows how to color his music richly and versatilely.”

▪︎ Jacques de Leeuw Award ▪︎

We proudly introduce to you .dolple.kath ✨️
Linh will participate on behalf of the conservatory for the Jacques De Leeuw Award.

The Jacques de Leeuw Award of 10.000 euros is awarded annually to the two most promising students of Fontys Academy of the Arts. This prize is made possible by the Jacques de Leeuw Foundation, an organization that advocates for cultural interests in Tilburg and its surroundings. This prize serves not only as recognition but also as encouragement for their further development and the beginning of their promising careers.

Let's introduce Linh!

Linh Bùi is a Vietnamese cello player in her final year of Bachelor. Travelling across the globe to follow her dreams, Linh has proven herself time and time again to be a talented musician of considerable strength and flexibility.
As a chamber musician, she has shown herself on stages to be a distinctive and sophisticated voice. She is also an active performer, joining a variety of musical projects throughout her studies in which she had been able to combine her experience as a classical musician with her interest in jazz and pop music. Being one of 10 nominees of Jacques de Leeuw Award, she stands out with her artistic vision, and aspiration to make classical music more accessible to larger audience.

We wish Linh the best of luck and are so proud of everything she’s achieved ✨️

Afke Flaviana, alumna of conservatorium Tilburg.
Together with alumni & jazz students & they had a performance at Boven & Benee -

Afke writes poetry, makes music and has her own EP! 🤩
In the summer Afke graduated from Conservatorium Tilburg, where she studied Jazz Voice.

Our classical voice alumna Veronika Akhmetchina won last week the 'Runner up prize' at the !

Together with our classical co-repetitor Martien Maas, Veronika delivered a beautiful performance.
What an amazing achievement! Congratulations Veronika, we are very proud of you ✨️

Last January, ON-mute hosted "On-mute of the Arts" event.
It was a day filled with performances by students of differents departments, hosted by our study association ON-mute.

ON-mute is our study association that organizes events for members almost weekly. On-mute helps you connect with new friends or even new colleagues.
