Karijn Kakebeeke will provide a workshop on using photovoice to include hard to reach populations in research activities. This is a two-part workshop, of which the first one you could in your own country/environment, while the other is face to face in Utrecht. The UMC Utrecht is one of the main organizers of the 13th European Congress on Global Health ( ).

This year's BMJ Global Health Grant will provide funding of up to GBP 5,000 to support attendance at the 13th European Congress on Global Health ( ) in Utrecht, Netherlands (20-23 November 2023), and the opportunity to publish a full paper in BMJ Global Health at no cost (article processing charge waived).

The BMJ Global Health Grant aims to support early career researchers in low-income and lower-middle-income countries (LMICs).

Yesterday evening the final session of the 2022-2023 cycle of the extracurricular Global Health & Tropical Medicine course was held, focusing on Health in Humanitarian Crises. For the upcoming 2023-2024 cycle, the GH&TM course is renewed and hosted together with the University of Ghana Medical School. In this virtual international collaboration (VIS) initiative students from the University of Ghana Medical School, UMC Utrecht, and beyond, are welcomed to collaborate and exchange knowledge and experiences with peers from across the world!

The sessions cover the following topics: Maternal Health (13/09/2023), Child Health (11/10/2023), Mental Health (08/11/2023), Environmental Health (13/12/2023), Non-Communicable Diseases (10/01/2024), Global Health Ethics (14/02/2024), Health in Humanitarian Crises and Disaster Preparedness (13/03/2024), Infectious Diseases (10/04/2024), Global Surgery (08/05/2024) and Digital Innovations in Global Health (12/06/2024). The online sessions are held every second Wednesday of the month, at 17:00-19:00 GMT or 19:00-21:00 CET (Summer) or 18:00-20:00 CET (Winter).
