We are proud to launch a new musical series showcasing the creative talent of our students and alumni through original songwriting and performance.
The first release in this series is Nostos, written and performed by Emma Lune Vassilacos and Lara Yoko Sofia Richter. Performed at our graduation ceremony in Tivoli last week and now available on Spotify, the song reflects on memory, belonging, and the journey of finding one’s place in the world.
Three years ago, Lara responded to Emma’s introduction post about writing a song together. What began as a simple collaboration evolved into Nostos, a conversation between past and future selves, exploring themes of loss and hope, uncertainty and growth.
In Ancient Greek, Nostos means “return” or “homecoming”, the journey back home after a long absence. Through its lyrics and music, the song offers a reflection on the transitions that shape us and serves as a tribute to the friends and family who become part of our story.
We are especially proud that most of the musicians involved in this recording are graduating this year, making this release a fitting celebration of their creativity, collaboration, and artistic achievement.
