Dear people,

We are pleased to present to you today the work of Kanhaya Lal and Rafael Bermeo, which was published in : Chemistry a European Journal.

This work is an exploration of lectin pockets from pathogenic bacteria.

This work was carried out in the groups of Annabelle Varrot Anne Imberty from CERMAV and Anna Bernardi from Università degli Studi di Milano.

We hope you will enjoy reading it!

Dear readers of our consortium !

We are coming to you once again to show the results of our consortium.

Today we will highlight the review written in Molecules by Cyril BALSOLLIER.

This review named "Overview of the Assays to Probe O-Linked β-N-Acetylglucosamine Transferase Binding and Activity" is aimed to highlight and explain the different bioassays developped to monitor the activity and the binding of O-GlcNAc Transferase.

Dear all,

Here is some news from our consortium before the christmas holydays!

Today we want to talk about the new paper of Nives Hribernik published in the journal Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry.

The paper, named "One pot synthesis of thio-glycosides via aziridine opening reactions", describes a new approach for synthesis of thio-glycosides via aziridine opening reactions. The glycomimetics with pseudo-disaccharide structure are enzymatically and hydrolytically stable and can be easily conjugated to aglycones.

Hello everyone!

Did you ever wonder how to draw sugars correctly? What are the tools available today to draw, design and explain their complex chemistry?

If you feel concerned by these questions, you can find the link to our latest publication :

"Computational tools for drawing, building and displaying carbohydrates: a visual guide."
https://www.beilstein-journals.org/bjoc/articles/16/199

Written by Kanhaya Lal , Rafael Bermeo Malo under supervision of Serge Pérez and published in the Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry. This paper will give you the tools to display your sugars, from your powerpoint presentation to virtual reality.

Today is a great day! We have the first publication of our consortium!

We are congratulating Rafael Bermeo Malo for this excellent article published in the journal Molecules!

Rafael is working under the supervision of Anabelle Varrot (CNRS, Cermav) and Anna Bernardi (Milano University) and his project is :

"Design, synthesis and evaluation of antagonists towards the Lectin Bc2L-C"

It is our pleasure to present Gabriele Conti and Dania Martinez Alarcon two of our ESRs that Just won a Poster Prize at CHAINS 2019 The Dutch Chemistry Conference.

Gabriele is working on SIGLEC8 inhibitor at Basel university and Dania on the expression and characterization of new lectins coming from opportunistic fungi.

We are thanking again Olle Bergman for sharing his knowledge on poster design and communication and Ulf Nilsson for the organisation of the last training in Lund!

Please check our website and other social media for more outstanding glycochemistry and medicinal chemistry.

A special congratulation to Kanhaya Lal that won the Poster prize of the 2nd Glyco@club days organised by Glycoalps !

Just one week after coming back from the workshop in Lund about poster presentation, Kanhaya was the first one to apply the method learned from Olle Bergman in an official scientific event.

Isn't that a proof that the formation provided is effective ?

Last Week the PhD4Glycodrug consortium was in Lund for a meeting centered on Scientific communication ! The ESRs under the supervision of Olle Bergman learned how to design and present their posters in conferences. They also had their first pitching experience through an exercise about how to build and finance a start up !

Thank you to Ulf Nilsson and Ulf ellervik for organising this workshop and the team from BioMax to allow us to visit the Synchrotron !

The science is going on and will bear fruits in a near future ! Stay updated by checking our website and our other social media !

PhD4GlycoDrug just finished its third meeting! During these three days, the PhD students learned about multivalency data management with the help of european experts such as Hakon Leffler and Roland Pieters. The first scientific results were presented in front of the european officer Barbara Mester and consortium members. We're looking forward to the next meeting in Ljubljana in six months!. Don't forget to check our work and other information about our consortium in Glycopedia (www.glycopedia.eu) and www.phd4glycodrug.eu !

Thank you also to SARomics Biostructures for attending this meeting with us !
