Globally more than 1900 insect species have been documented as edible. So, wehre to begin? It is indeed hard to decide between the 3 heroes on the market: Cricket, Grasshopper and Mealworm. All of them are tasty especially when roasted. MOreover they deliver high quality nutrients! If you prefer the invisible variety just try pasta or granola. To make the taste experience even more wide we do a lot of research on new applications. Next semester our 3rd semester students will develope new products. We are eagerly waiting for news!

What is the idea behind Circular Economy? In the fourth microlecture of the Fontys reserach group Business Innovation this topic was explored by showing examples in food and fashion: How does the Industry translate circular economy in their business models? Not all "circular ideas" really fit into the concept of circular economy. In General circularity has a big chance of supporting sustainable development.

Insect for food workshop today at Feed Design Lab organised by NGN. Tasty cricket burger from the Krekerij in Rotterdam and nice cakes with mealworm. Amazing how many small farms are already busy with breeding insects like mealworms, crickets or grasshopper. An exciting market!
