The second year students of DM/SPD went on a trip to the Elbe River and visited many towns between Dresden and Dessau, all being flood prone areas. They spent a few days looking at the flood risk measures in place and explored the cities.

Last weekend some 4th year students vistited Hamburg (germany) and saw some interested places where they adapted the public space and buildings to flooding and other climate changes effects.
High lights of the visit were Elbphilharmonie, the  bunker and HafenCity were they got a guided tour and a visit to the a inspireing maquette of this part of the town.
It was very cold but they enjoyed their final excursion of the watermanagement study.

Second year Water Management students joined the research vessel RV Wim Wolff to gain field experience. Using CTD instruments, we collected water samples and measured parameters such as temperature, salinity, and oxygen. We also took sediment samples with a box corer, rinsed it and examined them in the wet lab. 🧪🔬🚢

In the second week of May HZ Watermanagement, Novia University of Applied Sciences and Estonian University of Life Sciences students teamed up and visited the Eekenäs region in Finland for an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program on ecological restoration.
The week included workshops, field visits, international and interdisciplinary groupwork. The main topic was ecological restoration. The groups learned a lot about working together and the difference in problems different countries experience. At the last day the proposals for developments were presented to the municipality!
