𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 🦋 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗯𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 💙:
Sometimes is difficult to tell apart 𝘊𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘴 y 𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘴; here are sometips (in Polish) with lovely images and arrows pointing where to look!

🦋 𝘊𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘴 - Short-tailed Blue: butterfly is usually a bit smaller, however, it is one of the SMALLEST daily butterflies in Poland: characteristic tails, very characteristic orange spot
🦋𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘴 - Holly Blue: it has no tails or an orange cross on the wings. Female wings are very characteristic from the top (exceptionally wide black band).

𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. Here is a great example from Lithuania 🇱🇹 of the first and last observations of two 🦋species.
Some species are extending their flight periods, with the tendency for the first observations earlier and the last observations later. More people are recording nowadays, but climate change is also causing spring and autumn to become warmer, which leads to species being active for longer. There is a risk that such changes in season length will affect the phenology of species in the long term.

Yeray Monasterio presented the butterflies species from the regions of Portugal and Spain (Canary, Azores and Madeira islands). The masterclass is in Spanish but the slides are in English, subtitles can be active to follow better the session.
All species are reviewed with distribution and characteristics to identify them, great resource from these islands! 😀😀

📣Recently, there were issues with downloading the species list from the app. These have now been resolved, so you can 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 of the app and use it without any problems. You can download the species list for your country/region and the taxa for which you want to collect data in the field. 📲🦋
