It began on September 23, 2016 with the reissue of Enslaved’s Vikingligr Veldi — the first release on By Norse Music.
Ten years and more than 100 releases later, the label has grown into a wider community of artists, collaborators and listeners, exploring the sounds, traditions and expressions of the Nordic region.
Along the way, the By Norse family has grown too, bringing together a dedicated team of professionals who contribute their expertise, passion and commitment to the label’s work.
From artists such as founders Wardruna, Enslaved and our roster featuring Mari Boine , Kalandra , Emil Kárlsen , GĂsli Gunnarsson, Jonna Jinton , and many more, By Norse continues to provide a home for distinctive voices.
Thank you to all the artists, partners, team members and listeners who have been part of the journey so far.
