Som administrasjonssjef har du det overordnede ansvar til å lede, koordinere, utvikle, effektivisere og drifte den administrative virksomheten ved UNIS.

Our Arctic Safety Centre instructors visited the remote research settlement of Ny Ålesund this week. In cooperation with Kings Bay they shared experiences with conducting polar bear safety courses in Svalbard, while training new educators. Thank you for a great week working together!

We always appreciate visitors to discuss possible future research and educational projects and collaboration at Arctic Safety Centre 🌐🌎🌐. Luckily we have resources to show our guests the UNIS facilities but just as important is to be able to go 🚗out in Longyearbyen 🏞️to discuss our challenges and possibilities while actually being where it happens and can be watched and experienced. Og course polar bear is a threat, but also avalanches, energy supply, drinking water, landslides and so forth.

So glad for this week’s visitors from all over the world including Canada, 🇨🇦, 🇬🇧 UK, 🇳🇱 The Netherlands, 🇨🇭Switzerland, 🇸🇪Sweden, 🇩🇰Denmark, 🇳🇴Norway from Universities such as Lund University, Syddansk Universitet – University of Southern Denmark in addition to the SATA project with visits from UiT Norges arktiske universitet Fundação Getulio Vargas - Paulista

Crisis communication during climate change in Longyearbyen. Arctic Safety Centre’s James Badu has his PhD defence on Wednesday 10. June.

We at Arctic Safety Centre are so proud to be a part of James’ PhD thesis as he worked closely with us during the data collection which was all conducted over several stays in Longyearbyen. And, our own Center manager, professor Gunhild B Sætren, has been his main supervisor throughout this important work and Bjørn Ivar Kruke as co-supervisor.

Field Safety Forum today where the tourism industry meet at UNIS to talk together and share experience from last season and expectances for the summer season that is to come.

We do this twice a year. Invites everyone who works with field activities, have interesting presentations, work together in groups to Get to know each other between different organizations, and perhaps most importantly - eat lunch and dinner together.

A success every time with the great tourist industry here in Longyearbyen with great sharing culture.

Tusen takk for 2 svært innholdsrike dager med mye læring og nytte for samarbeid.

Det at en hel gruppe fra Samfunnssikkerhet ved UiT Norges arktiske universitet kommer opp og jobber seg gjennom to fulle dager med oss i Arctic Safety Centre gir rom for videre viktig samarbeid rundt sikkerhet i det høye Arktis.

Det ble foredrag og grundige og viktige diskusjoner med sentrale aktører her i Longyearbyen så tusen takk også til Longyearbyen lokalstyre Sysselmesteren på Svalbard og. Store Norske med besøk hos Gruve 7og alle som stilte opp fra The University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS)
