Five master’s level students from Tribhuvan University’s (TU) Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (CDJMC) have successfully completed a one-week educational study visit to China.
The visit, which marked the second batch under an ongoing academic exchange agreement between TU’s Journalism Department and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), provided participants with specialized training on emerging media technologies.
The participating TU students, Anusha Kafle, Diksha Rai, Monica Waiba, Laxman Giri, and Priyanka Sunar, engaged in intensive academic session covering- Integrating AI tools into daily newsroom workflows, exploring modern visual storytelling and short-form content creation, utilizing advanced media technology for community and national development, and practical approaches to identifying and controlling false content and misinformation.
The Nepali delegation was led by Dr. Rishikesh Dahal from the Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
A total of 12 participants from Nepal took part in the broader exchange program. Alongside the seven representatives from TU, the delegation included two participants each from Pokhara University and Lumbini Buddhist University, as well as one representative from Kathmandu University.
This marks the second consecutive year of the initiative, building on last year's inaugural exchange where master’s students and two professors from CDJMC participated in the same joint program.

CDJMC pays tribute to the victims of the floods and expresses solidarity with the affected communities. In accordance with the decision of the TU Executive Council and the notice issued by the Registrar’s Office, CDJMC has forwarded Rs. 91,467 to the TU Central Account as its contribution to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

CDJMC wishes success to the ongoing rescue and relief efforts and calls for the expeditious rehabilitation and reconstruction of the affected communities.
