Graduate Positions in Soil Health and Water Quality (Isotope Biogeochemistry) ๐บ๐ธ
Thinking about getting a graduate degree? Have a strong interest in biogeochemistry, stable isotopes, soil health, or water quality?
1-2 MS or PhD students opportunities available to start Spring or Fall of 2023 (January or August 2023) on two grant funded collaborative research projects on agricultural soil health and water quality, with their lab focusing on the use of phosphate stable isotopes to understand phosphate sources and processing. One grant, with five years of funding from the USDA, focuses on comparing soil health and water quality in a watershed that will receive extensive targeted best management practices, compared with a control watershed. The second grant, with two years of funding from the state of Ohio, will focus on the effects of dredged materials on agricultural soil health. The intent is for accepted students to be co-advised by Angรฉlica Vรกzquez-Ortega, a key collaborator on both projects (https://www.bgsu.edu/.../facilities-and.../geochem-lab.html).

Strong applicants will receive tuition waivers and stipends for 2-3 (for MS) or 4-6 (for PhD) years, through a combination of research and teaching assistantships.
Note, students should have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and other documentation of potential for success. International students should have a minimum of 7.0 overall IELTS score or 100 on the TOEFL, although applicants are evaluated holistically (note: for a list of exempted countries, see https://www.bgsu.edu/.../graduate-application...).
