What if higher education in Nepal were rooted in community, lived realities, and shared responsibility, rather than classrooms alone? This question began taking shape in 2018, when a small group of educators and practitioners initiated conversations around alternative models of higher education. Early team meetings explored how entrepreneurial thinking, community immersion, and reflective practice could be woven into a new educational approach. This approach was deeply grounded in Nepal’s diverse social, cultural, and geographic realities. By 2021, these conversations culminated in the development of The Communiversity Model, a concept paper shaped by feedback from educators across disciplines. While informed by global and regional discourses, the model remained firmly rooted in Nepal’s own traditions of collective learning and community knowledge.
