Rural Enterprise Service (RES) | KUSOM MBA

Exploring grassroots agriculture—Mr.Samin Aryal, Ms.Nita Dhakal, Ms.Bibechana Shrestha, Mr.Sameer Adhikari, Mr.Niket Niraula, and Mr.Arjit Subedi from MBA Batch Fall 2024 conducted their RES in Lalbandi Municipality, Sarlahi.

Engaging with farmers across all 17 wards, the team explored local agricultural practices, key crops, and on-ground challenges, while also interacting with institutions such as the Oilseed Research Program (Telbali), Bagwani Kendra Lalbandi, and Krishi Aujar Anusandhan Kendra.

A meaningful experience connecting classroom learning with real agricultural ecosystems.

The School is pleased to share the publication of a book chapter titled “Invisible Enterprises: The Unrecognized Contribution of Home-Based Women Entrepreneurs in Nepal” by our MBE student Ms. Shradha Adhikari, co-authored with Mr. Krishna Khanal, former visiting faculty at the School.

The chapter is published by Springer Nature in the book titled “Business and Management in Asia: Opportunities and Entrepreneurship”, and highlights the often-overlooked contributions of home-based women entrepreneurs in Nepal.

We are pleased to announce the publication of a research article titled “Evaluating Stakeholder Preferences for MBA Programs in Nepal Post-COVID-19: An Application of the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP)" by Asst. Professor Sanjaya Pudasaini in the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education.

The study explores what stakeholders value most in MBA programs in Nepal's post-pandemic landscape, from curriculum and teaching quality to employability outcomes and delivery formats. The findings provide evidence-based insights to guide the future design and reform of MBA education in Nepal.

The EMBA & MBE 2026 Batch Orientation at Himalaya Drishya Resort, Dhulikhel, marked a powerful beginning for a cohort of experienced professionals as they stepped into the next phase of their leadership journey.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Achyut Wagle emphasized the importance of bringing real-world experience into the classroom and cultivating holistic thinking as future leaders. Dean Prof. Bijay K.C., while welcoming the cohort, reflected on the evolving global landscape—highlighting AI, shifting geopolitical dynamics, and the changing business environment that are shaping the roles of management and economics professionals. Associate Dean Assoc. Prof. Khagendra Acharya highlighted KUSOM’s core values, while Prof. Dr. Binod K. The Spring 2026 MBA Orientation at Himalaya Drishya Resort, Nagarkot—organized collectively by the MBA 2025 batches—set a vibrant and inspiring tone for the journey ahead.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Achyut Wagle challenged students with critical questions to sharpen their preparation as master’s students, while Dean Prof. Dr. Bijay K.C. highlighted the significance of the MBA experience. Prof. Dr. Binod K. Shrestha (HoD, Marketing & Entrepreneurship) emphasized the School's core values and graduate attributes. The program blended engaging icebreakers, team-building activities, and a case-based session by Asst. Prof. Sunanda Sharma and Nisha Adhikari, fostering collaboration and critical thinking. The School is pleased to share the publication of a research paper titled “Reporting good after doing good? Investigating the relationship between CSR performance and disclosure readability” by BBA Batch 2022 students Prajwal Bikram Thapa, Bipasha Chaudhary, Shruti Acharya, and Pranisha Acharya, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Rajesh Sharma, in the Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies (Scopus indexed Q1 Journal).

The paper examines the relationship between CSR performance and the readability of CSR disclosures among NIFTY 50 companies through the lens of institutional theory. The study, developed as part of the Basic Econometrics course, is supervised and co-authored by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rajesh Sharma.
