📢 Call for Student Research Proposals 📢

FWU–RIDC invites Bachelor’s and Master’s students to submit short academic research proposals under the Renewable World (RW) collaboration.

🔬 Focus Areas: Renewable energy, conservation, climate resilience, sustainable livelihoods (with emphasis on National Parks & buffer zones, including Shuklaphanta National Park).

👩‍🎓 Eligibility: FWU students (Bachelor’s & Master’s) from Environmental Science, Forestry, NRM, Zoology, Botany, Sociology, Development Studies, and related fields.

💰 Funding:
• Master’s: NPR 50,000
• Bachelor’s: NPR 30,000

📌 Research must be part of approved coursework and supervised by a faculty member.
📄 Master’s students are expected to prepare at least one journal manuscript.

🌍 In collaboration with Renewable World (UK) – working on clean energy access, climate resilience, and sustainable development in Nepal.

Some highlights from the field study of First Semester ( ) ( ) around the Bedkot–Chhela Community Forest Area, Kanchanpur. Students learned practical skills including enumeration of floral and faunal diversity, DBH measurement, tree volume estimation, and calculation of population and community parameters such as density, frequency, and species diversity indices.

Some highlights from today’s field visit

An enriching learning experience for BSc 6th Semester Environmental Science students during the field visit to the Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) & Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP), Shuklaphanta.

Students observed and learned municipal solid waste management and faecal sludge treatment process, including segregation, collection, treatment, recycling, composting, and final disposal processes.
