Mid-West University School of Management (MUSOM) was founded in 2072 B.S. MUSOM has grown speedily as the Leading Business School of the entire Mid Western region of Nepal. The business school is the autonomous institution of Mid-West University Nepal. At the present, it has 8 full-time faculty members and 15 visiting faculty members. It has an enrollment of 400 graduate and undergraduate students

studying in Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Hotel Management and Master of Business Administration. MUSOM has been ranked as only one Best Business School of Karnali Province MUSOM as Best Business School of Karnali on the list of the 5th NEW BIZ Business Schools Conclave & Awards 2019. Through MUSOM Mid-West University makes its best effort to offer high-quality business-related academic programs to the young +2 passed girls and boys from rural and urban communities across Nepal. With an association with the executive council, dean's office, and central financial department of Mid- West University MUSOM prepares its budget that provides funds for the operation of all academic programs ranging from student development activities, faculty development, MIS system upgrades, research, and expenditures such as travel, supplies, and student scholarship. The main additional funding has been provided by student fee and University Grant Commission's funds for autonomy that is being released through Mid-Western University. It is through ground reality-based-operational and action plan MUSOM gives a priority for recruiting and retaining qualified faculty and creating an environment for world-class teaching, research, and publication. MUSOM ensures the engagement of both faculty and student in producing and disseminating new knowledge, fostering a culture of multidisciplinary education, and providing rewards for significant achievements made by students and faculty. University autonomous operating guidelines, bylaws, and MUSOM's operational plan, action plan, faculty development policies, and procedures, research policies and procedures, publication policies provide guidance for overall academic planning, staffing, leading controlling process focusing on implementation, and evaluations. MUSOM has developed a student overall evaluation handbook, a Faculty Mentoring Handbook, and Faculty Development Book. Focus is given on faculty recruitment, Faculty teaching loads, faculty mentoring, and faculty qualification criteria. MUSOM Strategic Plan provides the road map for entire quality enhancement in MUSOM. Some remarkable practices include RMC Grant for mini-research and collaborative research, Travel Support, Seminar Support to student, guest lecture series, distinguished speaker series, database support, and Center for Faculty development, center for communication and collaboration. MUSOM has continuously strengthened its world-class research contribution. Publication of Peer-Reviewed Journal and IBC 2019 conducted in Surkhet is the strong indicator of MUSOM's continuous improvement in international level intellectual contribution. MUSOM has been an autonomous School of Management since 2019. The School is being funded in the area of its accreditation maintenance from the University Grant Commission. This helps MUSOM for being the resulted-oriented business school. Student assessment is the main focus in MUSOM. Undergraduate and Graduate assessment system clearly provides the schedules for assessment of the main Seven strategic learning goals which include effective communication skills, social networking skills, quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills, technical skills, ethical knowledge, Problem-solving skills, and assimilation skills. On the basis of the evaluation of these skills, a curriculum improvement and review process takes place. Mid-West University from the outset of its operations runs a full-time MBA program. With its incorporation in MUSOM three years ago, however, this is running as a focused and prioritized program with continuous quality improvement. With the handful number of enrollments in the early years, MBA is expanding in terms of student number and influence. It has been the first choice of young people in Surkhet and periphery who want to build their career in business and corporate management. MUSOM regularly designs and implements quality development programs in curriculum and pedagogy in connection with MBA. BBA is a popular undergraduate program in Surkhet. More than 250 students are studying at present. Every year MUSOM enrolls around eighty students in two different sections. It has been successful to attract a talented young mass of the community. The number of aspirants is increasing every year. MUSOM is an autonomous institution of Mid-West University to impart quality management education. It has the following Vision, Mission, Goals, and Emerging Priorities for expansion of research skills-based on higher management education.
