Last Thursday, we were delighted to celebrate International Chinese Language Day at Fairfield College! 🎉

As one of our Confucius Classroom schools, Fairfield students and teachers truly demonstrated their passion for learning and exploring Chinese language and culture. From engaging activities to vibrant interactions, the enthusiasm across the school was inspiring to see.

We were especially excited to hear about the recent study camp to China over the April holidays—students returned with unforgettable experiences and stories to share, clearly having enjoyed every moment of the journey.

A highlight of the event was the student representative’s speech delivered entirely in Chinese, which truly wowed all attending guests.

Last week, CI in Auckland hosted a Lead Teacher Workshop at our premises, with teachers from eight partner schools taking part. The workshop provided a valuable space for teachers to exchange ideas on how to best support the work of Mandarin Language Assistants (MLAs) in schools.

Xiaolu facilitated the session and shared insights on MLA wellbeing and understanding Gen Z professionals, sparking thoughtful discussions about supporting young language assistants as they begin their teaching journey in Aotearoa.

Thank you to all the teachers who joined us and contributed their perspectives!😊
