Kia ora, friends, we have some big news.

After 59 years on campus and beyond, ubiq books has entered voluntary liquidation (effective 2 July). Changing textbook habits, climbing costs, and the long tail of Covid have taken their toll on independent bookselling, even after significantly expanding our range and rolling out a brand-new website. We’ve long been champions of independent publishing in NZ and over the last twelve months have really shone a light on Māori, Pasifika and independent NZ voices across our platforms and the response has been incredible.

📚Semester Two is still on. Our UoA and AUT shops will trade as usual through Friday 29 August, and online orders remain open while stock lasts, so you can still grab course books, lab coats, stationery — or that novel you’ve had your eye on.

We’re incredibly proud of what this little team has built and are deeply grateful to every student, staff member, librarian, and reader who has walked through our doors (physical or virtual). Your support kept us turning pages for nearly six decades.
