ATMC New Zealand has launched a series of insightful seminars this semester, beginning with an in-depth session on “Study & Internship, Work, and Employment Policies.” This seminar covered essential topics, including student visa rights, internship conditions, graduate profile outcomes, and NZQA’s pastoral code of practice. Emphasis was placed on the importance of aligning studies with future career relevance, understanding graduate outcomes, navigating study subjects, and accessing NZQA’s pastoral support services. These seminars demonstrate ATMC New Zealand's commitment to keeping students well-informed about available resources and opportunities, ensuring they are fully aware of their pathways and support options as they advance in their academic and professional journeys. Want to thank Raj Pardeep Singh who took the time to patiently address each student’s questions and helped them understand how to make informed decisions regarding their study goals.

Our healthcare students recently had the honor of celebrating the Matariki festival, a time of great significance in Māori culture. Matariki, the Māori New Year, marks the rising of the Pleiades star cluster and is a period of reflection, remembrance, and renewal. It is a moment to honor the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to the future.

During the celebrations, our students immersed themselves in the rich traditions and customs associated with Matariki. They participated in various activities that fostered a deeper understanding and respect for Māori heritage, including traditional storytelling, star-gazing, and community feasting.
This experience not only enriched their cultural awareness but also highlighted the importance of holistic wellbeing, a core value in both Māori culture and our healthcare education.

We are proud to share these moments of cultural learning and respect. By integrating these experiences into our curriculum, we aim to cultivate healthcare professionals who are not only skilled but also culturally competent and empathetic.
