Any questions don't hesitate to ask by messaging the page.. Ask us anything from kite buying advice to lesson organisation. For LESSONS: we have a partnership with Blue Adventures, with a deal at $500 for 2 people! of 2 pax per instructor. This means our kite students will learn kitesurfing in the safest way possible, get more time strapped-in, be able to enjoy the lessons and progress faster. This page is for organisation, kite related banter, car pooling, irritating windsurfers, claiming how great you are (Tim Adair) and lying about tricks you havent landed.

Social nights at shads!

Kicking off this semester at the campus watering hole. We will be looking to host events like these regularly, where you're encouraged to swing by after a hard day of study and have a beer with some of the local student kite group.

Events aren't ticketed, feel free to swing on by and have some input into upcoming away weekends and other kiting events.

See you when we're looking at ya.

The wind may be a tad marginal this weekend, but the beach is still calling! So get ready beach bums and join us at Pt.Chev on Sunday Morning (10am) for a good ol’ beach clean and catch-up!
You’ll find us with gloves and bin bags ready to help keep our kite spot beautiful!
(Feel free to bring any gloves you have lying around too - we don’t wanna fill up our oceans with more plastic!!)
Despite point sh having a name for itself, we really care about our lil gusty corner of Tāmaki Makaurau and want to do our part to look after it!
As always, stay safe Frothers and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Another successful AGM to wrap up what hasn't been the easiest year, but for some news to brighten everyone's day - we have a new committee to welcome!!

Our new committee are as follows:
President: Liam Tompkins
Secretary: Saffron Nixon
Treasurer: Jakob Buiter
Committee Support Officers: Emily Joines, James Robinson and Larissa Marr

Everyone give them a warm welcome, and hopefully we can see everyone all together very soon!

We can't forget to give a huge thank you to the committee members from this year who are moving on (but we have no doubt will still be lingering around the club and giving the committee a hand where needed), Tim, Russell, Levon, Lisa and Lili.

Let's see what 2022 has to bring!!

20/09/2021

Exciting news today! Takeaways are a go, and more importantly, some water activities are back on!!
We unfortunately cannot open the trailer for rentals while at level 3 so you will have to work with what you’ve got, or message us to work out a potential long term rental.

We would also like to remind members that have their own gear of the following;

1. You should only be going out on the water if you are competent with self rescues and emergency procedures, we don’t want anyone needing to call out emergency services. We recommend only going out if you can confidently spend a session transitioning back and forth without bailing, at the point where you’re looking at starting to jump. Please do not try to learn any new skills at level 3!!

2. Social gatherings are not permitted, so you should refrain from posting on pages to get a group together.

3. You must maintain 2 meters distance while out on the water (no high-fives), and equally as we want to limit the risk of spreading covid, you or people in your bubble should be the only ones to touch your gear. If you don't have anyone in your bubble to launch and catch your kite you should self launch and land.

4. You must remain within 200m from the shore, no foiling trips out to Rangitoto and back!! You also need to stick to your local beaches, so please head to the closest spot to you that works for the wind direction.

Cheers,
The Kite Club Committee
xoxo
