As a part of terms 2 and 3, we at Ara Music take to the road and play at different high schools around Te Waipounamu. Here is a sample of 3 of the 5 bands that were out sharing the joys of studying at Ara Music.

📣 Announcing our 2026 Bronwyn Bijl Scholarship recipients!

This NZ Music Month we're excited to share our 2026 scholarship recipients, and their exciting projects with us this year:

🥁Harry Mohi (22, pictured left) known by his Tongan producing name Nafa, receives $3000 towards performing, filming and producing an original arrangement of Tongan worship songs for choir and band.

🎷Alex Boot (20, pictured right) receives $2000 towards performing, recording and producing an EP of his original music, fusing modal jazz, hip hop and EDM influences.

Ka rawe! Congratulations to these two exceptional musicians, we look forward to supporting your awesome projects to come to life at The Piano.

I’m going on tour!! I can’t wait to play these new songs for you guys and celebrate the release of my third EP “The Muse” coming to you on April 17th!
