The overall objectives of the Graduate Research School is to:

+ Provide leadership in the area of research-only higher degree education (thesis Masters and doctoral degrees)
+ Oversee doctoral and thesis Masters-related matters and advise appropriately
+ Manage and administer the University's doctoral and scholarships programmes, and awards and prizes
+ Facilitate and encourage best practice acro

+ Advise on policy matters related to graduate research
+Provide appropriate support and pastoral care for all postgraduate students and their supervisors
+GRS staff are available for private consultation by candidates or staff on matters related to postgraduate research study.

March 31st was the date of our second annual GRS Quiz Night.
We ended up with a tie for 2nd and 3rd place with "A Tense(less) Situation" winning by a hair in a hard-fought tie-breaker round.

1st place “Cooked”
2nd Place “A tense(less) situation”
3rd place “The wise drug dealers”
Wooden spoon prize – “Ninja 5”

Our final 3MT divisional heat was held Thursday 24th. 12 excellent contestants from a range of science disciplines shared their research with us and it was a tough decision for the judges.

This morning's 3MT Health Science Heat was strongly contested with Brooke Morrison winning the Master's section and Elijah Atta Manu winning the Doctoral prize.

Runners up were Emma Managh (master’s) and Vaishnavi Yeleswarapu.

A big thank you to judges Associate Professor Ailsa McGregor (Associate dean, research) and Dr Manon Knapen.
