Let's meet some of the humans of OPSA!! Kicking things off is the Office Manager, Rammy!!

Rammy has been a part of the OPSA crew since 2019, starting out as a student rep, building his knowledge and working his way up. You'll see his face in the office Mon- Fri and is always up for a chat! (Unless he sprinting round the hub chasing his own tail)

Here's some info around our Office Manager

👨‍🎓Degree in Business Management with a diploma in accounting
🏊‍♀️ He loves a good gym and swim
⛑️Currently training for Red Cross emergency rescue
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Grew up in England and Egypt before moving to NZ at 9 years old
🦈He is an adrenaline ju**ie and has been swimming with sharks, sky diving, climbed bridges, and so much more
🐈‍⬛ Has a massive collection of cat memes
🎶Indie rock is his absolute jam

Rammy is a real people person and is always round to help where he can. He loves a good joke (he may use it when he does his stand-up routine).

OPSA is full of wonderful humans, and we are here to help with the student experience!

Next week, the president of OPSA, the man the myth, it's Daiiz!! (He doesn't know about this yet 🤣)

On 8, 9 & 10 June, any OP ākonga who would like to choose to receive a FREE vaccination (and free kai of course, because we know food always helps) can do so at one of our three 'Boosted OP' events on campus.

We will be offering FREE vaccines to ākonga to offer additional protection against:
Meningococcal disease (normally $150)
Flu (normally $15 +)
Covid (normally free but you have to go to it!)

You are also able to let us know if you are interested in receiving vaccines for:
Measles, Mumps & Rubella
HPV
If we have enough interest, we will strongly consider offering these as well.

Register your interest here so we know how many vaccines to order.

Please register by Monday 1 June at 5pm.

You are also very welcome to come along just to find out more about the different vaccines before you make a decision. And enjoy the kai of course.

We respect that people have a range of different ideas about vaccination, and would like to request that it is returned in all directions.

Dunedin Midwinter Carnival are looking to recruit more volunteers for this years carnival event!
There are two volunteering options available, one being supporting children and whanau in the lead up to the event creating lanterns to be used in the procession and then volunteers for the event itself! A great way to get involved in the local community and support the Dunedin arts.
Check out https://www.midwintercarnival.co.nz/volunteers/ for more information.
1🏮Art Team Assistant (Lantern Workshops) - Support children and families in creating their lanterns for the Carnival! A hands-on and rewarding role across four weekends leading up to the event. Creative energy and a friendly vibe welcome!

2🌟Midwinter Carnival Event Volunteer (Carnival Weekend) - Join the magic of Midwinter Carnival! We’re looking for friendly volunteers to help with ticketing, food sales, lantern wrangling, crowd safety, info & merch stands, and more. Bring your energy and be part of an unforgettable night in the heart of winter!
