Last night, we celebrated the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship Completion Ceremony 2026, recognising the achievements of 27 graduating Manaaki scholars.

The evening featured speeches from Carla Rey Vasquez (Director of Scholarships, Education New Zealand) and Danielle Yamamoto Kerr from the University of Otago International Office, alongside reflections from our International Student Support team and graduating scholars.

Surrounded by friends and family, we marked this important milestone as our scholars prepare to return home and share their knowledge and skills with their communities. 🌏

Congratulations to all our graduating Manaaki scholars! We look forward to celebrating your future successes and staying connected as you continue your journeys as Otago alumni. 🎓💙

After completing his NCEA Level 3 courses in Auckland, Jason made the move to Dunedin and now a Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) student at the University of Otago! 🎓

Settling into life here has been a rewarding change of pace, and he loves having the time to explore both his studies and interests outside the classroom. 📸

What a wonderful week it has been for our University of Otago team in India! ✈️🌏

As part of our Meet Otago in India visit, our team travelled across eight cities, meeting prospective students and their families, connecting with academics and education partners, and sharing what it’s really like to study and live at Otago.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with us, ask questions, share your study plans and learn more about life in Dunedin. Your enthusiasm and curiosity made each event a memorable one.

And to the students we met along the way - we hope to see many of you at Otago in 2027! 🎓
