Hajie Tamorite worked in Professor Sally Brooker’s team at the University of Otago on “Pyrene Functionalised Copper Catalysts for the Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution Reaction”, completing an MSc with distinction. He then took up a job in Melbourne at William Adams (pictured), returning briefly to Dunedin to graduate in person in December 2024. NZ’s loss is Australia’s gain. We wish you every success with your career in industry Hajie!

Congratulations to Nick Green and Lyall Hanton who were winners at the recent Sciences Divisional Awards. Nick cleaned up, receiving two awards: the award for the Best Research Paper – Academic Staff (fundamental) and the award for Outstanding Early-Career Researcher. Lyall received the Special Award for Distinguished Service.
