Using AI to support planning and teaching writing

With the release of the university’s policy on the use of AI, and as we all start to explore the potential of generative AI, this two-part seminar provides an introduction to AI and how it is being used in schools. Over these two seminar sessions Andrea will share a workshop she conducted with local teachers with a focus on -
• Unpacking what generative AI is and its potential for use in
education.
• Exploring the use of AI tools to help with planning literacy
(writing) lessons.
• Looking at some AI tools and ideas that teachers can use with
ākonga to support writing.
• Discussion around the benefits and challenges of using AI in our
teaching practice.
