Eastwest College is partnering with OMF and other mission agencies to put these online gatherings together.

Next one: Barriers to Mission

Date: Aug 31, 2026
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Location: Online
https://omf.org/nz/event/bridge-mission-barriers-to-mission/

Are you drawn to serving in mission, but feel like there are too many obstacles standing in the way? Perhaps they’re mental hurdles, such as assumptions about who you need to be before you’re ready. Or maybe they’re practical challenges like career commitments, family expectations, finances, feelings of inadequacy, or not knowing the Bible as well as you’d like. You aren’t alone!

Join us in our online workshop and hear how others have overcome these hurdles. Engage with ways you can step into mission right now and challenge your assumptions of how you must be. Whether you are thinking about serving overseas or here in NZ you will be encouraged to journey with others and learn from experienced mission leaders.

We paused our usual activities to worship, listen to testimonies, and pray that God, would touch our broken world.

We went to war in prayer for the nations, standing in faith and interceding for those in need. College Prayer Day was a great reminder to put on the full armor of God, stand firm, and pray without ceasing.

Lord, increase our passion and fervency for prayer.
Thank You for hearing and answering our prayers.

Eastwest College is partnering with 'The SEND New Zealand'.
Three events are coming up!
Check the SEND website above for more details.

Send Nights exist to regionally gather youth and young adults and see our generation activated into our missional and evangelistic calling. To make Jesus known in our schools, workplaces, universities, neighbourhoods, and communities.
Our hope is not simply to host events, but to see lives transformed as people respond to God's call and live out the Great Commission wherever He has placed them.

All send nights are completely free and no registration is needed. So invite your mates and church and we'll see you there.

At Eastwest, learning goes far beyond the classroom; it happens in the everyday moments we share together. Every gathering becomes a chance to celebrate our diversity and strengthen our community.

A highlight in Semester A was our International Game Night, where students shared traditional food dishes and taught games from their home countries. With so many cultures represented on campus, the night was not only fun but also a great intercultural learning experience.

We also cherish smaller moments of connection, like our recent Men’s and Ladies’ Breakfasts. The men enjoyed a BBQ outdoors, while the ladies gathered for a potluck feast.

Whether we’re tasting new foods, laughing over games, or sharing breakfast, these times of fellowship bring us together and help our campus grow into a strong, rooted community.

Milestones worth celebrating: July 2026 Graduation!

At the completion of Semester A in July, we had the joy of celebrating a special graduation. We honoured 13 dedicated students who had committed themselves wholeheartedly to their studies. (Six completed level five and seven level six). They now step into the next chapter of God’s calling on their lives, and we are excited to see all that will unfold but we must be honest that there is a sadness lingering as we farewelled people that have been family!

The graduation ceremony on the 4th of July was made especially meaningful by the presence of Allan Shadbolt, the founder and first principal of Eastwest College. Allan shared a powerful testimony of God’s miraculous provision, recalling how, after being challenged to establish the college in his early 50’s, God faithfully supplied 32 acres of donated land, countless willing volunteers, and a legacy that has now grown to more than 500 graduates.

Allan offered a compelling charge built around three keys:

- Surrender fully to the sovereignty of Jesus,
- Continually cultivate the fullness of the Holy Spirit, and
- Expect our great God to guide our steps and provide for every need.

That is a great word for all of us!
Please join us in praying for our graduates as they step out in faith!
