Join the Whāki webinar this month with Dr Paul Brown to discuss some of the findings from the Understanding Policing Delivery project, which is investigating whether, and to what extent systemic bias exists in policing services in Aotearoa NZ. This will include results from the Data Stocktake and Gaps Analysis report, which looked at the wider data ecosystem of NZ Police, the gaps in demographic data, and the treatment of Māori data.

Exciting new opportunity available with the research team here at Te Mata Punenga o Te Kotahi.

We're looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join us. The position is fully funded for two years and based at the Te Kotahi Research Institute for the Tauhokohoko Indigenous trade research programme. The ideal applicant will have a strong interest in research areas aligned with Indigenous data sovereignty and/or Indigenous trade, and there is scope to develop independent projects that build knowledge and understanding about Indigenous data sovereignty and Indigenous trade with a particular focus on the digital economy and/or digital cultural heritage.

This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) is based at the University of Waikato, Hamilton. Salary will be in the range of $87,500 to $104,322 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. Ideally this role will commence in February 2024.
