Paid Student Internship: Produce a Podcast in preparation for the 2026 Election!

Passionate about gender equality and civic participation? ALPSS has an exciting paid Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunity for B Trimester. Partner with an external employer to create an impactful podcast series for radio!

As part of the role, you’ll:

🎧 Research topics on gender equality
🎛️ Produce and edit podcasts
📱 Create social media posts to promote the series

What we’re looking for: Since this season focuses on the upcoming parliamentary elections, we want someone with an avid interest in civic engagement and fresh ideas for topics relevant to women voters. Remote Creative Placements – Design & Writing - Trimester B

Are you a Screen & Media or Writing Studies student looking for a meaningful Trimester B work placement? Gain real-world experience and begin to build a professional portfolio by supporting the digital outreach of a NZ-based mindfulness and meditation retreat centre.

This fully remote, Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunity offers two specialized paths:

Role 1: Graphic Design – Craft high-impact flyers, digital booklets, and visual assets.

Role 2: Content Creation – Develop engaging newsletters, articles, and organizational resources.

Why apply? Beyond the flexibility of working from home, you will contribute to a mission of mindfulness and spiritual wellbeing. Whether you specialize in visual design or written storytelling, you will finish this placement with a tangible body of work to showcase to potential employers.

We're excited to see our alumnus, Jordan Fonoti-Fuimaono, performing in the Hamilton Civic Choir's Anzac Day concert!

Introducing our next soloist for our Anzac Day concert, Jordan Fonoti-Fuimaono . Jordon is a proud Sāmoan tenor from Flaxmere, Hastings. His journey with classical singing began when he joined Project Prima Volta in 2016. Jordan is now a graduate of Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato Conservatorium of Music; gaining a Bachelor of Music with Honours (First Class) and a Masters of Music (First Class). He most recently gained a second Masters of Music in Advanced Opera Studies as a Dame Malvina Major Foundation Scholar with Te Pae Kōkako: The Aotearoa New Zealand Opera Studio (TANZOS) under the tutelage of Nikki Li Hartliep. In 2023, he was awarded the Dame Sister Mary Leo Foundation Scholarship runner-up prize. In 2025, he received the Dame Malvina Major Foundation Scholarship top prize. He had a jam packed 2025, performing roles such as: Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi), Tenor (Britten Serenade), Roasting Swan (Carmina Burana), Nemorino (The Elixir of Love - reduced), Tenor (The Messiah). Competition success includes: North Shore Aria (winner), Jim Stevenson Tenor Scholarship (winner), Christchurch Aria (runner-up) and the New Zealand Aria (third prize).
