NZQA Category 1
ECN English Academy holds Category 1 status
ECN English Academy is a private training establishment registered by NZQA (New Zealand Qualifications Authority).
Every four years NZQA conducts an EER (External Evaluation Review) to ensure that quality standards are maintained. ECN English Academy was rated ‘Highly Confident in educational performance’ and ‘Confident in capability in self-assessment’ in 2011. With these EER results, ECN English Academy is deemed a Category 1 provider.
NZQA Category 1 and work rights for student visa holders
Work up to 20 hours a week while studying
Immigration NZ have extended work rights to all international students studying at high quality providers who are rated Category 1 by NZQA in the English language sector.
Students who meet all of the following criteria will be allowed to work up to 20 hours per week:
• Full-time course
• Minimum 14 weeks in duration
• NZQA Category 1 school
This means that students studying a full-time course that is at least 14 weeks in duration at ECN English Academy will be allowed to work up to 20 hours per week!
