I have been lucky enough to have had nearly 30 years experience in different forms of Dance. i was a Rock n Roll dancer for over 20 years, dancer/performer in Musical theatre performances and part of my university studies I minored in dance which included contemporary, j
azz and performance. I also threw in a few years of ballroom. I have been fortunate to have all these wonderful experiences and have found a wonderful way to put them to use thru wedding/event choreography. The last 14 years I have been focusing on raising my children while still finding some time to dance and perform. Now they are a little older I have found that my focus has been more on them, even 1 of my daughters has a passion for dance and competes around the waikato which is awesome. With my focus been on the kids and not my own dancing I wanted to find a way to be able to bring my passion for dance and choreography while still finding time for my children......
I was approached 1 day by a lovely friend who had a couple who needed some guidance and thought I could help, I had never thought about this avenue before but thought why not.... it was amazing and I even ended up singing at their wedding.... long story and not my usual ;)...
that experience gave me so much joy and watching them dance on their wedding day with a piece I had created made me realise this is what I wanted to do from here on out.... which is where Wedding Choreography by Ceri was born......
