We recently ran into an issue when building out an application for a client... If you've been working with web apps connecting to Xero you would have probably worked with something like accounting.transactions as a scope. As of March 2026 the scopes were updated to more "granular". Scopes like accounting.transactions have been deprecated and replaced. Check out the latest scopes for Xero web apps here:

Under the hood Visual Maps simply takes any data file and display the points on a map, making it easier to understand, explore, and work with location-based information.

It’s a simple but powerful idea: take raw data and turn it into something visual, practical, and easier to use.

Visual Maps is part of our growing Space Builder platform — a place where we’re publishing the applications and tools we’re actively building and testing.

We’re excited about the potential of this one and what it can unlock for people working with data, places, and communities.
