There will be a showcase of different cultures across the kuratini, including Māori, Sri Lankan, Fijian, and Bangladeshi student performances, and we encourage everyone to come along, support, and join the celebrations!

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. Whether it's connecting with friends, getting some fresh air, joining campus activities, or simply taking a break, every small step counts. With lots happening on campus, this is a great reminder to look after ourselves and each other.

Congratulations to the award winners, nominees, and everyone involved in this year's Hawke's Bay A&P Society Hawke's Bay W**e Awards.

Congratulations to two of EIT’s emerging talents who were recognised at the recent Hawke’s Bay W**e Awards.

Katelyn Church, a third-year Bachelor of Viticulture and W**e Science student, won the Best Student W**e Award for her Albariño. Autumn Parker received the Craggy Range Young Vintner Scholarship for her passion for the industry and clear vision for its future.

EIT CEO Lucy Laitinen says the awards highlight EIT’s strong connections with the region’s w**e industry.

“Many of the w**emakers and viticulturists working across Hawke’s Bay today trained here at EIT. Our students learn alongside some of the best in the industry, often at the very w**eries where they go on to build their careers.”

Judging took place over two days at our Hawke’s Bay campus, with Viticulture and W**e Science staff and students working as stewards. Coordinated by lecturer Tim Creagh, they prepared w**es, supported the judging panels and helped everything run smoothly.

Welcome to Term 4 at EIT!

Last week, we welcomed our new postgraduate students to our Auckland and Hawke’s Bay campuses for orientation, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their academic journey.

Orientation gave students the chance to familiarise themselves with their new environment, connect with classmates and staff, and feel prepared for the start of their studies. The experience provided the opportunity to make new friends and to start building connections and networks.

We are delighted to have you all as part of our EIT community. This is your first step towards a successful and rewarding postgraduate experience. Take every opportunity to connect, explore, and get involved.

Advancing collaborative teaching and learning through partnership. 🌏

As part of the Joint Education Programme partnership between EIT and Zhejiang Yuexiu University (ZYU), six lecturers from ZYU have spent five weeks at EIT’s Hawke’s Bay campus learning first-hand about teaching practices they can take back to their students in China.

From experiencing different teaching approaches to exchanging ideas with EIT colleagues, their time in Hawke’s Bay has offered valuable insights they can share with their students and colleagues back home.
