From Singapore to Surabaya… 🌏

Our 2026 Southeast Asia Roadshow brought Massey University together with universities, industry partners, alumni, students, and New Zealand Embassies and High Commissions across nine cities in five countries over 14 days. The focus was on strengthening long-standing relationships and opening doors to new opportunities in teaching, research, and student pathways.

Open Days in Singapore and Manila also gave us the chance to connect directly with prospective students and their families, sharing what it’s like to study at Massey and what makes us globally recognised.

We’re excited to keep building these partnerships across the region.

Meet Sonja Maxwell 👋

Sonja has come all the way from Germany to study a Master of Design at Massey.

She chose Massey because of its strong reputation for design in New Zealand - and completing her Master’s has always been the goal.

“I’m nervous about it, but really excited.”

Sonja moved to Wellington with her family for the adventure, and now her kids are going to school here while she takes on this next chapter.

Welcome to Massey, Sonja - we’re so glad you chose to study with us!

After beginning his nursing career at home in the Philippines, Angelito Tolosa was inspired to go international and moved to New Zealand to study a Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing.

“My friends’ encouragement, combined with Massey University’s strong international reputation among students made it an easy choice.”

Angelito recently graduated and has his sights set on pursuing a Master of Nursing.

“Studying nursing at this level has allowed me to engage in advanced clinical research, assessment and evidence-based practice. I also managed complex patient cases, experiences that few outside the profession truly grasp.”

Angelito is proud of completing his postgraduate course whilst balancing work and personal life.

“I believe knowledge is limitless and human progress begins with a curious mind. This mindset has pushed me to grow, persevere and reach beyond my comfort zone.”

His advice for those considering postgraduate nursing is to trust the process.

“It only feels daunting until you take the first step. Stay consistent, remain open to learning and never underestimate your abilities. Persistence and dedication have truly carried me through.”

Good luck with your Master of Nursing, Angelito. We’ll see you at your next graduation!
