Dear beautiful people,

Hope you all are doing well.

I know some of you must have wondered where MUMSA was on the MUSA virtual clubs day this year.

MUMSA was unfortunately inactivated due to the lack of students since Jun 2021. The previous committees couldn’t find students to take over the club hence we decided to freeze it until there’s someone interested to reactivate the club. If any of you that see this post, interested in reactivating the club, please do not hesitate to approach me or you can contact MUSA for that.

Here’s some announcement regarding Bersatu Game:

Bersatu Game is the sports event organised and participated only by Malaysians in New Zealand for the new students that do not know what that is. Bersatu Game will be held in Christchurch this year.
In previous year, this was a pure sports game between students from different university, but this year Bersatu Game is aiming to increase player participation and provide a social platform for students from different university. There will be social event included this year in Bersatu game. In other words, you can join other contingent for any of the sports that you are interested in, and not necessarily forming a team with the students from the same university.
High commissioner has suggested MUMSA to join OMSA from Otago due to the lack of students. As for the team sports, I know it is unrealistic to travel for training especially if it’s in South Island, but as mentioned, the aim is to have a social bond instead of wining the competition. In other words, play for fun but not for the prize. It is completely up to you who you want to join if you’re thinking of playing team sports, not necessarily OMSA as it is just a suggestion.

Please do let me know if you’re interested in playing in Bersatu Game this year. The previous MUMSA team had lots of fun last year, hence I would encourage whoever that’s interested to join this year!!

We can't believe how fast the summer break has flown by, but that means we're finally kicking off with our first MUMSA event! 🥳 This coming Saturday from 5 to 7pm marks our Kia Ora event loaded with good food and lively entertainment. It's our first event so let's gather up to meet the crew and new members! 😇

If you are looking for some activities to distress during the exams or after exams, here are some of the options!!!🤩🤩

Considering most of the international students are not able to go back to their home country this year due to COVID, MUSA has organised a series of events from 4th Nov to 5th Dec 2020 to make your summer more fun! There are sports🏸🏀🏓, picnic⛱, barbeque🍢🍡, movie night and lots of fun activities awaiting you this summer! 😎

Details are as follows:

Sports Week will have the following games played- Badminton, Volleyball, Frisbee and Futsal. The dates for these events will be decided based on availability at the Rec centre.

Brown text- Off-campus events
Participation in all these events is FREE for all students! ❤ 😍😍

Hello everyone, hope you all had a fantastic day! 😊

This Sunday (20th September 2020) we are celebrating Merdeka and Malaysia Day at the Centre so keep that day open! With that, we are proud to welcome the Manawatu Malaysian Club and the high commissioner in joining us for this event so don't miss this excellent opportunity to connect with the local Malaysians! 🥳

We have loads of exciting activities and prizes in line for everyone including icebreaker games, quizzes, and poster competition to name a few. Lastly don't forget about the delicious food and refreshment which will all be provided. 🤩

Having said that, non-MUMSA members are more than welcome to attend this event as well, with a cost of $15 per head covering the above. Payments can be made via bank transfer or cash at the event.
