This week BCM hosted the Big Picture Plus course for recent-ish staff and officers of The Salvation Army. This was three days of learning, sharing and laughing through leadership and management teaching and experiences. Thanks to the Upper Hutt Family Store, Bridge/Reintegration, BCM/CLD, Rata Educare and Upper Hutt Corps for hosting small groups out of this fabulous team so they could experience different aspects of mission in this part of the motu.

This week the first year cadets explored what worship could have been Tabernacle times of the Old Testament. They built and engaged with a handmade model created in the 1950's for The Salvation Army. Its hands on learning - thanks to our Heritage and Archives Centre for sourcing and caring for this taonga.

This past weekend BCM hosted the God's Messengers sessional reunion. There is centuries of testimony to God's faithfulness in these faces. They are pictured here outside of the original Aro St training college building where they studied for one year before moving to our current site to complete thier training. May God continue to bless and encourage them each.

This weekend we welcome the Rauora - Rescued session of cadets to training with Booth College of Mission 2026/2027! This was a great weekend of powhiri welcome, celebratory live streamed service, and today a relaxed worship service together at the college with thier new community friends and whanau. We continue to pray they feel at home as classes begin tomorrow. May God richly bless Pati and Anita, Paul, Sesilina, Mike and Hannah as they continue to follow God's calling on thier lives.

This morning the families of Lt's Rose, 'Elina and Sateki were thanked for thier encouragement and support of the new lieutenants, with a nominated few joining The Salvation Army's Fellowship of the Silver Star. This is an international tradition and way of expressing gratitude for the love and support families and friends bring to those who fulfil their calling as officers, facilitated by Commissioner Janine Donaldson and Lt Col Margaret Bateman. We pray God's continued blessing on them all as they now travel home after a great weekend.
