Victoria University of Wellington Law Students' Society VUWLSS exists to enhance the legal education of law students at Victoria University of Wellington. For any inquires send as an email at [email protected].

The Victoria University of Wellington Law Students' Society (VUWLSS) is a student-run, representative organisation, with two primary aims. Firstly, as a representative body, VUWLSS is an advocate for all law students at Victoria University - at Faculty, University and national levels. Secondly, the VUWLSS are dedicated to making the experience of law school more rewarding, dynamic and interesting for all students. The Exec seeks to enhance students' time spent at law school through social, educational and competitive events. Knowing when to push, when to listen, and when to make the deal, our Chapman Tripp Junior Negotiations Final was the perfect way to bring the competitions year to a close.

Congratulations to our winners, Ben Ward and Syrah Ranta, and runners-up Stella McFadden and Katherine Bayer, who put on an impressive final and demonstrated excellent strategy, teamwork, and negotiation skills.

A heartfelt thank you to our judges, Tom Jemson and Emma Peart, for giving up their time and sharing their expertise with our competitors. We’re also incredibly grateful to Chapman Tripp for sponsoring the event! ❤️

About a month ago, our Senior Competition Winners competed at the NZLSA national conference in our very own home university here in the Capital! It was very special to welcome students from across the country to Wellington.

We had an excellent time partaking in all things conference. From Skills Workshops, to Quiz Nights, to Galas and of course, lots of competing! We are extremely PROUD of our competitors who all did a fantastic job and we came away with some specular results:

What an incredible night at the Bell Gully Junior Moot Final! The courtroom was electric as competitors delivered compelling submissions, demonstrating exceptional advocacy and impressive legal analysis. Every mooter was articulate, advancing their arguments with precision and poise throughout the final.

We’re so excited to have FOUR new picnic tables permanently on our grounds!

These are for everyone and anyone to use, whether you’re grabbing lunch, studying between classes, or simply wanting to spend some time outside. We hope these tables become a lasting part of student life at OGB and create a new space for our VUWLSS community and whānau.
