This year saw the completion of new shepherds' quarters at Hereheretau Station, providing modern, fit-for-purpose accommodation that supports the wellbeing, comfort and safety of station kaimahi.
A blessing ceremony took place alongside mana whenua, station staff and project partners, the new facilities recognise the important role kaimahi play in the ongoing success of the station and reflect an investment not only in farm infrastructure, but in the people whose mahi contributes to its long-term sustainability.
As the major asset of the Māori Soldiers Trust, Hereheretau Station continues to generate value that helps support initiatives such as the Sir Āpirana Ngata Scholarship programme for descendants of Māori veterans.
Hereheretau Station is administered by the Māori Trustee on behalf of the Māori Soldiers Trust.
