Venture Up accelerates the entrepreneurial careers and dreams of aspiring young New Zealanders within a high-octane four-week programme held annually from early January to mid February, powered by Creative HQ and sponsored by WREDA and Callaghan Innovation. The programme delivers New Zealand’s best entrepreneurial practices, thinking and mentorship, to take your existing capability to the next level, sampled from leading business accelerator Lightning Lab.

Our Story

Venture Up is Creative HQ’s short-term youth accelerator and New Zealand’s leading entrepreneurship accelerator for young aspiring leaders.

Based on Creative HQ’s 15 years of experience supporting startups, New Zealand’s future innovators are introduced to the entrepreneurial ecosystem to learn leadership and collaborative working skills in an immersive environment. Venture Up develops the confidence and resilience required to flourish in their future ventures.

Since the inaugural programme in 2015 every Venture Up programme is underpinned by three core values; education, connection and resilience:

Introducing participants to new ways of thinking, for them to then decide what is useful and how to best apply it, Venture Up builds resilience and instils the notion that real success comes with turning the ‘failures’ into stepping stones. The supportive environment provides a space for self-expression and challenging thought processes as Venture Up strengthens leadership skills and develops the confidence and capabilities required to stay the path.
