Our Te Hīkoi Tupu – The Growth Journey class had a fantastic day at Piwakawaka Farm - Learning Environment joining the community for their Potting Day.
Together, our rangatahi helped pot up an incredible 300 native plants while getting out into the taiao and putting their learning into action.
From exploring pollination and photosynthesis to learning about the importance of our ngahere, it was a hands-on day of learning, connection and mahi.

A great reminder that growth happens in all kinds of places, sometimes with a little dirt under your fingernails. 🌿

Our Hospitality learners put their communication and teamwork skills into practice as part of their assessment making S’mores Cookies! 😍
There was plenty of teamwork, problem-solving and a bit of taste-testing along the way.
Awesome mahi, team! 👏🍪

Learning doesn’t always look like sitting in a classroom!

Our Te Hīkoi Tupu learners put their communication and teamwork skills to the test with a fun challenge, and let’s just say, the results were VERY different! 😂

The activity was all about communication, trust, teamwork and reflecting on what worked (and what definitely didn’t).

It’s been an awesome first week for our newest programme Te Hīkoi Tupu – The Growth Journey, with a fantastic group of rangatahi already on board and a strong team around them.

Te Hīkoi Tupu is about helping rangatahi break down barriers, build confidence, discover their pathway goals and take the next steps towards further study or employment.

It’s already been a really positive start, and we’re excited to see where the journey takes this group.

If you know anyone interested in checking this class out, get in touch today!
