Western Philippines University officially opened the WestPhil Baragatan 2026: The WPU Trade and Innovation Expo at the Capitol Gazebo in partnership with the Provincial Government of Palawan through the Livelihood Program Management Unit.

Through exhibits from its colleges, research centers, and innovation hubs, the university showcases how research is transformed into technologies, products, enterprises, and opportunities that create real impact for Palaweños.

In her message, Amabel S. Liao emphasized that innovation must ultimately benefit communities. When local products thrive, local families thrive. When entrepreneurs succeed, communities prosper. And when communities prosper, Palawan moves forward together.

As WPU participates in Baragatan for the first time, the university expresses its gratitude to the Provincial Government of Palawan, led by Hon. Gov. Amy Roa Alvarez for this opportunity to showcase how the university continues to serve as a partner in creating stronger livelihoods, greater opportunities, and a more sustainable future for the province.
