The Pangasinan State University, through the Office of the University President, has announced the implementation of an alternative learning and work arrangement due to the high heat index and in compliance with Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 117, s. 2026.

Effective April 20 to May 27, 2026, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays will follow an onsite or in-campus work arrangement, with classes conducted through face-to-face instruction.

Meanwhile, Thursdays will be designated as work-from-home days with synchronous online classes, while Fridays will follow an asynchronous online modality and a work-from-home setup.

Non-teaching personnel will report onsite from Monday to Thursday and will adopt a work-from-home arrangement on Fridays.

According to the University President, Dr. Elbert M. Galas, the arrangement aims to safeguard the health and welfare of students and personnel while ensuring learning continuity and the uninterrupted delivery of essential services, subject to institutional capacity and the readiness of both students and faculty.

The arrangement is further supported by the results of the Universityโ€™s faculty and student surveys, which consistently show a preference for predominantly face-to-face teaching-learning, alongside readiness to participate in online learning when implemented in a structured, guided and learner-sensitive manner.
