The 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙨’ 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙪𝙢, held as part of the 55th 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙑𝙎𝙐 𝘼𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜, was graced by experts from various government and private institutions who shared relevant and timely knowledge on key agricultural concerns.

The forum featured topics on disease prevention and 𝙗𝙞𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙘𝙠 and 𝙥𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙧𝙮, the 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙎𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨, 𝙢𝙖𝙟𝙤𝙧 𝙥𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙨 and 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙨 in 𝙀𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙨, and a 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 for large ruminants.

The activity was participated in by representatives from various farmers’ organizations, agricultural stakeholders, and students, fostering knowledge-sharing and strengthening collaboration toward a more productive, resilient, and sustainable agricultural sector.

The 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 (𝘽𝙎𝘼) students once again showcased their culinary skills through an engaging cooking activity as part of the celebration of the 55th 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙑𝙎𝙐 𝘼𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜.

The activity highlighted not only their creativity and teamwork but also the practical skills and versatility of agriculture students beyond the classroom.

As part of the 55th 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙑𝙎𝙐 𝘼𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜, the 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 (𝘽𝙎𝘼) students of the 𝘿𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 (𝘿𝘼𝙜𝙎) participated in the 𝙋𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧-𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 held on September 23, 2026, anchored on the theme, “𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮: 𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝘼𝙢𝙞𝙙𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙨.”

Through their creative and meaningful artworks, the students showcased their appreciation for the invaluable contributions of farmers and fisherfolk to food security, agricultural development, and nation-building, while highlighting the challenges they continue to face.

The 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 (𝘽𝙎𝘼) students participated in an engaging 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙌𝙪𝙞𝙯 𝘽𝙚𝙚 at the 𝘿𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 on September 21, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 55th 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙑𝙎𝙐 𝘼𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜.

The activity combined academic challenge and enjoyment, featuring unexpected twists, challenging questions, and exciting moments throughout the competition.

Questions covered the six major areas of the Agriculturists Licensure Examination: 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙥 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝘼𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙎𝙤𝙞𝙡 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙥 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙨 and 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜, and 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣.

Two faculty members of the 𝘿𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 (𝘿𝘼𝙜𝙎) of 𝙑𝙎𝙐 𝘼𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜—Dionesio R. Macasait, Jr., RAgr., PhD and Ms. Jessha Barbosa, MSc—presented their research works at the 14𝙩𝙝 𝘿𝙊𝙎𝙏-𝘼𝙎𝙏𝙃𝙍𝘿𝙋 Graduate Scholar Conference held at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel in Iloilo City last September 17-18, 2026.

The conference brought together DOST-ASTHRDP graduate scholars from universities across the Philippines, providing a venue for scholars and researchers to share their research findings, exchange knowledge, and foster academic and professional collaboration.

The Department of Agricultural Sciences of VSU Alangalang has successfully deployed 35 fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) students for their on-the-job training (OJT) at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).

The internship program serves as a crucial step in bridging academic learning with real-world agricultural practices, allowing students to gain hands-on experience, enhance their technical skills, and develop a deeper understanding of the industry's challenges and opportunities.

Through this partnership, the department remains committed to producing highly competent and field-ready agricultural professionals who will contribute to the advancement of the sector.
