๐๐๐๐ | Student leaders from Visayas State University (VSU) Alangalang participated in the PHILCAUSE National Youth Summer Camp, a YAKAP ng Kabataang Pinoy โ Experiential Service-Learning Program on SDGs (YAKAP-ESLP on SDGs 2026), held from March 24โ27, 2026, at Pine Breeze Cottages and Gestdan Centrum, Bokawkan Road, Baguio City. With the theme โADVOKAYA 2026: Ikaw at Ako sa Adbokasiyang may Puso, Kaya natin โto!โ, the event brought together young leaders from across the country.
Representing VSU Alangalang were Carl Jhon Abala, USSC President; Gabriel B. Cobalida, USSC Vice-President; and Trisha Faye P. Balida, FFES-SSC President, accompanied by their adviser, Ms. Karen R. Lira.
The three-day program was organized by the Philippine Community of Advocates United for Students Empowerment (PHILCAUSE), Inc., in partnership with Bicol University. It gathered student leaders and key stakeholders from various institutions for leadership training, team-building activities, and collaborative workshops designed to strengthen their roles as advocates of national development.
During the event, VSU Alangalang was also awarded a Certificate of Institutional Membership by PHILCAUSE, Inc. This recognition signifies the universityโs intention to support and take part in the organizationโs advocacies, particularly in promoting student empowerment, experiential service learning, and youth-led initiatives aligned with national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
