AUF Learning Continuity and Operational Plan During the Economic Crisis
I. Background
Over the years, the evolving educational landscape has called for adaptive learning environments that ensure continuity and effectiveness. In light of current global economic pressures, particularly rising energy and operational costs that affect institutions in the Philippines, the need for flexible and sustainable arrangements has become even more important for our students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel.
As a Catholic institution, our response is guided not only by prudence in managing resources but also by our commitment to the common good and responsible stewardship. We recognize that economic pressures affect not only institutions, but also the families of our students, faculty, and staff.
In this context, the Learning Continuity and Operational Plan during Economic Crisis (LCOP) outlines measures to help the University sustain academic continuity, use its resources wisely, and support the Angelenean community. These include adjustments in work arrangements, greater use of hybrid modalities, and more careful prioritization of expenditures.
These steps are undertaken in a spirit of shared responsibility, ensuring that the University remains faithful to its mission, anchored in its core values of pagiging mabuti, magaling, and may malasakit sa kapwa while navigating present challenges with prudence, compassion, and hope.
II. Common Off-Campus Day
A. Weekly Closure
To support energy conservation and operational efficiency, the University offices shall be closed one day each week during the implementation period.
Friday shall serve as the University’s common off‑campus day. This arrangement may be implemented through Remote Learning Days for academic units, Work‑From‑Home (WFH) arrangements for offices or units that provide assistance to academic units, or Compressed Work Arrangements for administrative offices and, where applicable, academic units.
B. Holiday Substitution
In weeks when a regular holiday falls on a weekday, the holiday may serve as the designated closure day in lieu of the Friday closure to maintain the one-day-per-week closure objective.
During holiday substitution, offices will remain open, and onsite classes scheduled on Fridays will proceed as usual. Faculty and students without Friday classes are not required to report, except during examination days.
C. Academic Continuity
Academic continuity remains the priority. When necessary, classes, laboratories, examinations, consultations, and other essential academic activities may proceed on Fridays, subject to prior approval from the concerned Vice Presidents or Deans/Director/Principal.
D. Consolidation of On-Site Activities
When on-site activities are necessary on the designated off-campus day, units shall, as much as possible, consolidate operations in a single building to support energy conservation and operational efficiency.

III. OTHER ACTIVITIES
In line with the designated common off-campus day, activities originally scheduled on Fridays—including retreats, recollections, recognition programs, college or faculty activities, AUFIS Baccalaureate Mass, and graduation-related events—shall be rescheduled to Monday through Thursday during the implementation period.
All directives related to economic crisis mitigation, as issued through official University email channels, shall continue to be upheld and observed by all colleges, schools, and offices throughout the implementation period of the Learning Continuity and Operational Plan during Economic Crisis (LCOP) and beyond, until officially withdrawn or replaced by new directives.
These measures shall remain in effect until May 29, 2026, or sooner if conditions improve, as the University continues to respond with prudence and shared responsibility in sustaining its academic mission.
All members of the University community are advised to regularly monitor official University communication channels for updates on schedules, which shall be reviewed and issued on a weekly basis to ensure timely dissemination of information.
