SHARKBYTE SATURDAY

Ever wondered where the name “computer mouse” came from?

The first computer mouse was actually made of WOOD! 🪵 In 1964, Douglas Engelbart and his team developed an early pointing device with two wheels, housed in a small wooden case. Its “tail-like” cord inspired the name mouse.

From a wooden prototype to the wireless mouse we use today, technology continues to evolve!

Keep learning. Keep exploring. Keep innovating!

Did You Know?

On September 9, 1947, engineers working on the Harvard Mark II computer discovered a moth trapped inside one of the machine's relays, causing it to malfunction.

The moth was carefully removed and taped into the maintenance logbook with the note:

"First actual case of bug being found."

This unusual event became one of the most famous stories in computing history and is often associated with the practice of debugging, the process of finding and fixing problems in computer hardware and software.
